WHAT IS WEC?
WANT TO PARTICIPATE?

The Western Engineering Competition (WEC) is Canada's largest engineering competition for undergraduate engineering students.

Participants are tested on problem solving, idea generation, consulting, and communication by an industry panel for a chance to advance to the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC).  This is a leading event to go head to head in sharing engineering knowledge, and an exceptional place to network with industry professionals - an opportunity not to be missed!

Every year, BCIT has done exceedingly well at the WEC. In 2017, BCIT were also finalists at the CEC.

Students compete in each of the following categories:

  • Senior Design
  • Junior Design
  • Consulting Engineering
  • Re-Engineering
  • Innovative Design
  • Impromptu Debate
  • Engineering Communications
